Esha Gupta was first choice for Murder 3 1
Though Aditi Rao Hydari has been roped in for the lead in Murder 3, but the film was originally offered to Esha Gupta. Aditi would be playing a sensual role in Bhatt’s third installment of ‘Murder’ series.

However, Aditi was not the first choice for the film. Esha Gupta of ‘Jannat 2’ fame was originally offered the film. It is also learnt that Esha has signed a contract of three films with ‘Vishesh Films’. After ‘Jannat 2’ she would be doing ‘Raaz 3’.
Citing the reasons for roping in Esha Gupta, a source says, “Esha was the first choice of Bhatts for the film. The reason she didn’t do it is because her favorite writer Shagufta Rafique, who has written both her earlier films, is not writing this one. Also Mahesh Bhatt who has been involved in all the Vishesh films may not be able to mentor this one.”
When Esha was contacted for it, she informed, “I am busy with the dubbing of Raaz 3 and then the film’s promotions will start. Then I have to finish Prakash Jha’s Chakravyuh. There was no way I could give hundred percent to Murder 3 and do justice with the role. Why to do something when you know you wouldn’t be able to pull it off. You don’t want to do things halfheartedly”.
